Come along and take part in some really stimulating discussion, learn about local campaigns and examine the deeper implications of emerging and current technologies within our society.

Recent wars in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq have led to excessive rises in cancers, birth deformities and immune system failure.

Studies are showing high levels of toxic metals (including uranium) in environmental and human samples in the aftermath of heavy bombing, and many scientists are now convinced that modern weapons not only kill directly but are responsible for unacknowledged health crises.

Join us for a look at the evidence for this, and also the cover-up.

This is part of a season of discussions and workshops arranged under the Breaking the Frame banner in Bristol.

Watch out for more events in this series on the themes of technology and democracy:

  • Energy Politics,
  • Smart networks,
  • Nuclear decision makers,
  • Impacts of modern weapons,
  • Flood management
  • and more…

The events in this series aim to provide answers to the question: “What are the paradigms and attitudes these issues have in common, and how can we address problems and solutions in a democratic way?”
