Winter social event, all welcome – London – 11th December 2018

When

11/12/2018
6:30 pm - 11:30 pm

New Lucas Plan and Breaking the Frame Winter Social

Please join us for a social event and seasonal drinks at the Lucas Arms pub near Kings Cross, preceded by a short discussion with members of Breaking the Frame Working Group.

If you’ve come along or helped out at any of our events in the past, this is an opportunity for some festive fun with familiar and friendly faces.  Or if you’re not so familiar with Breaking the Frame or the New Lucas Plan but would like to find out more, this is your chance to meet others with similar interests. There will be cake!

From 6.30 to 7.30pm in the main room of the pub, members of the Breaking the Frame Working Group will give a short talk and answer questions about the organisation and it’s relevance today.

Then we’ll settle in for the social part of the evening.

What piques your curiosity…

  • Robotics and automation?
  • Activism and democratic local planning?
  • Arms-to-renewables conversion and just transition?

Technology structures our lives in so many ways, from the food we eat to the work we do and so much else besides.

If you enjoy thinking about these things, come and chat with some like-minded people on Tuesday 11th December at 6.30pm. We’d love to see you there.

About us:

  • Breaking the Frame organises events and campaigns related to the politics of technology.
  • The New Lucas Plan celebrates the example set by Lucas factory workers 40 years ago in proposing alternative, socially-useful applications of technology and skills – and their relevance today.
